The Reliability of the Bible

When Peter wrote his second epistle, there were false teachers in the Church who did not believe in the second coming of Jesus and who were calling the Bible a collection of fables. This is still happening today. People question the reliability of the Bible, and many call it a book of myths and fables. Peter gives three strong truths which can help us to realize that the Bible is reliable.

#1. The Bible is reliable because it was written by eye witnesses. 2 Peter 1:16

Peter and the apostles were eyewitnesses to life, death and resurrection of Jesus. They testify to the truth of the Gospel.

#2 The Bible is reliable because it shines a light in our hearts. 2 Peter 1:19

The Bible is self authenticating. When you read it honestly and prayerfully it will touch your heart and you can know it is true.

#3 The Bible is reliable because it is inspired by God. 2 Peter 1:21

The Bible is not from the will of man, but was written by holy men who were moved by the Holy Spirit. The Bible is not just another book, It is the Word of God and can be relied upon for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. 2 Timothy 3:16

Do not allow the false teachers of today to cause you to doubt God's Word. It is reliable.

God bless you, Bro. Freddy
